It's episode/page 3 of our new, fun children's book,
Wild Animal Stories (fun tails for kids and other wild animals).
What's the difference between a Cheetah, a Cheater, and a Cookie?
- SPEED: CHEETAHS are the fastest land animal in the world. They can run up to 70 miles per hour (113 kilometers per hour). CHEATERS, depends on whose chasing them. COOKIES, depends on whose eating them.
- APPEARANCE: CHEETAHS have a spotted coat, a small head and ears, and dark tear stripes from their eyes to their nose. They are large cats that purr, not roar. CHEATERS and COOKIES come in all shapes and sizes.
- FOOD: CHEETAHS must eat quickly to avoid losing their food to other carnivores (meet eating animals). They rely on a sudden burst of speed to catch gazelles, wildebeest, impalas and small hoofed animals. CHEATERS are omnivores which means they eat animals, plants, and cookies. COOKIES eat ingredients and then are eaten by children of all ages.
- POPULATION: CHEETAHS are endangered. There are only 10,000 or so left in the wild. Once abundant in Africa and Asia, they now exist in only southwestern and eastern Africa. Cheetahs are at the brink of extinction because of a loss of habitat, high cub mortality rates, a decline in prey, and conflict with ranchers. CHEATERS are, unfortunately, not endangered. COOKIES are, fortunately, not endangered.

The Truth about Smoking and Kids
There was a time when tobacco companies could say whatever they wanted to kids to get them addicted to cigarettes... these day's they have to be sneaky. Every day, more than 1,500 kids in the America become smokers... roughly one third of them will die prematurely from smoking-caused illnesses. Children are three times more sensitive to tobacco advertising than adults. Education is the best defense.
Guest Artists and Songs in this Episode:
- We love fun music. In addition to Josie singing Rippy The Gator by The Arrogant Worms again, we played a great song this episode – Pillsbury Cookie Dough – by Paul and Storm... who are in fact friends of the Worms. Both bands music is humorous, satirical, and original, but some songs may not be appropriate for your child, so please listen to their music first to discover which concepts you want to expose your children to.
- The Wild Alphabet Story, "C is for Cheetah as in, Cheetah Cheater, the fastest eater. Had a wife, but couldn't beat her. Put her in a pumpkin shell… Hey wait, I'm no cheater!" was played with to the tune of the classic nursery rhyme Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater and Sesame Street's C is for Cookie.
- Snow White first appeared in Season 2, Episode A.
- Abbott and Costello first appeared on the My Baby Monsters children's story sharing podcast in Season 1: Episode 13.5. To learn more about Abbott and Costello, read the educational resources of that episode.
