Storytelling Game: The Great Big Happy Birthday You Animal Test
also known as the "How old are you now?" Birthday Game
Which animals give birth in the water?
A) Hippos, B) Indian Rhinos, C) Jellyfish, D) Kids -- wild goats
- Hippopotamus often give birth in the water, but they need to breathe air so the 100 pound baby surfaces right after birth to take its first breath.
- Snort, not Indian Rhinos
- Jellyfish live their entire lives in the water.
- Baah, not Wild Goats
Which animal becomes an adult the quickest?
A) Hippos, B) Indian Rhinos, C) Jellyfish, D) Kids -- wild goats
- Not the Hippopotamus. Hippo calves nurse both under water and on land for a year, after that, they're weaned off their mothers' milk, but they remain with their mothers until they become an adult at the old age of eight.
- Not the Indian Rhino. Indian Rhinoceros calves are weaned off their mothers' milk when they are a year-and-a-half old. But they aren't forced to move out then. They live with their mom for many years... until a new baby brother or sister arrives, at which time, their mother chases them off. When a female is ready to become a mom, she whistles, then the males then fight with each other (not with their horns, but teeth) for the right to be the daddy. Males are around 9 years old and females 6.
- Yes, zap... depending on they type of Jellyfish, they are the winners. It only takes a few weeks for Jellyfish to grow up, but then they only live for 2 months to a year.
- Nope, even though the kids are weaned after 6 months, and the female goats are adults after two years (four for the males), the Jellyfish are long dead.
Which animal will live to see many more happy birthdays?
A) Hippos, B) Indian Rhinos, C) Jellyfish, D) Kids -- wild goats
- Unsure if Hippos will celebrate many more Happy Birthdays because they are Vulnerable*.
- Unsure if Indian Rhinos will celebrate many more Happy Birthdays because they are Endangered**.
- Jellyfish will probably celebrate many more Happy Birthdays because (although some of their relatives are Vulnerable*) jellyfish are widespread... though they may become threatened if their habitat's change.
- Unsure if Kids of Wild Goats will celebrate many more Happy Birthdays because they are Vulnerable*.
What it means for an animal to be threatened?
- Vulnerable:
Threatened... these animals face a high risk of extinction in the wild.
- Endangered:
Threatened... these animals face a VERY high risk of extinction in the wild.
- Extinct:
No worries, these animals are no longer threatened... they are all dead.
The Quick and Silly GOAT Quiz:

No, they are too wild.
So what is a Jellyfish?

No, they are just called that to confuse you.
- If not fish, then what are Jellyfish?
95% water, 3% salt, 2% protein, 0% fish.
- Are you like a Jellyfish?
Hopefully not, most Jellyfish are transparent and have no brains, bones, blood, heart or eyes.
